HDFC Life in association with The Times of India and Casio had conducted a Spelling Contest on January 18, 2012. Many students of class 8 and 9 successfully participated in the same and 15 students were shortlisted for the city finals.

Essay competition
Siddhanth Hazra of IV A has won a silver medal under junior category for Essay competition organized by the reputed Chennai based organization “Schoolsindia”.
Earlier he was adjudged the Ist runners up Creative Contest held in Aug-Sep 2011 organized and sponsored by the reputed “Pears” company. He received beautiful shield and a colourful certificate highlighting his achievement.
Graduation day 2012
The theme of this year was 'Chisel your own destiny’. The ceremony was marked by the procession of 162 young graduates, pledge and prayers, and melodious songs by the school choir. The students went down memory lane and were deeply touched by a video presentation depicting their journey at Carmel.
Dr. Ali Khwaja was the chief Guest for this occasion; He urged students to compete within themselves and urged the parents to encourage the students to pursue the career of their choice.



Global Leadership Summit
Shibani Hegde , Khushal Jhajharia of Class 9 & Abhishek Jayakumar of Class 8 along with their teacher coordinator Bindu Jayakumar attended the first ever Young Citizen’s Global Summit organised by the British Council at SAI International School, Bhubaneshwar between 26th-29th January, 2012.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Naveen Patnaik, honourable Chief Minister of Orissa and had a variety of modules ranging from Theatre, Communication Skills, 100 words, Youth Leadership. Fine arts, Big Dance to Tony Blair Faith Foundation & BBC WC with facilitators from U.K. 100 schools all over India participated in the Summit and there was a lot of camaraderie and exchange of ideas & views. The four day summit also included workshops by dignitaries like Mr. Subroto Bagchi(Vice Chairman-Mindtree), Mr. B.K Patnaik ( Chief Secretary, Odisha) followed by cultural programmes & a visit to the Konark temple & Sand sculpting festival at Chandrabagh Beach. The valedictory function was graced by the Governor of Odisha. The students took back with them a lot of memories, friendships & the importance of being a global citizen and ideas to start the Global Citizen Club in their respective schools.

Last Parent Teacher Meeting will be held on 25-2-2012 and report cards for A+, A, B+ Grades will be issued between 9.30 am – 10.30 am and for B, C, C+, D Grades between 10.45 am – 12 noon
